About / History

The Mello Smello brand was created in 1980 when Jon and Leah Miner partnered with 3M to utilize a revolutionary new technology to create a new line of stickers. This new technology, called micro-encapsulation, allowed for a variety of odors to be coated onto paper. The result: Scratch’n Smell® stickers. A resounding success, both the product and company took the name Mello Smello, and the company’s commitment to technology and innovation was firmly established.
